IUSD-ASU MSc Degree


IUSD at Ain Shams University offers a Masters of Science in Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design from Ain Shams University (ASU) upon completion of 2 years of study in the programme ( 58 Credit Hour/ 12o ECTS).

In addition, IUSD students enrolled at Ain Shams University for the first year are eligible to apply for available opportunities for exchange with our international partners. The exchange leads to obtaining MSc double degree from both ASU and the partner university – according to location and study period. This currently includes:

    * A double master’s degree in Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design from Ain Shams University and University of Stuttgart upon completion of 2 years of study in the program ( one year in Cairo and one year in Stuttgart)

    * A double master’s degree in Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design from Ain Shams University and National Institute for Applied Sciences Strasbourg (L’INSA Strasbourg) upon completion of 2 years of study in the program ( one year in Cairo and one year in Strasbourg)

 

Furthermore, enrolled students have the opportunity for going on One semester exchange at international universities.

In order to apply for the MSc IUSD program at Ain Shams University, the following documents are submitted only online to the application portal within the announced periods.

The application period for this cycle is 15th May 2018 – 15th July 2018.

2- Copies of qualifications

  • University transcript (English)
  • University degree (English)
  • English proficiency (English)
Please note: With the exception of proof of English proficiency the copies of these documents need to be officially authenticated/certified and translated into English.
Only IELTS (general or academic, min. band 6) or TOEFL (min. score 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 79 internet based) are accepted.

3- Motivation, professional and academic experiences

  • Portfolio (English, no longer than 5 pages in A4 Format)
  • Letter of motivation (English, no longer than 350 words)
  • Two letters of recommendation (English, no longer than 350 words each)
  • Curriculum Vitae (please use the Europass Specimen Form for the CV)
  • Scanned Copy of your National Passport.
Please note: your portfolio must show a list of projects or a sample of work (student or professional projects) relevant for the IUSD course content as a written description and (if available) graphic illustration of selected projects in terms of their content. To ensure  equal treatment of all applicants, portfolios of more than 5 pages will not be considered.
Recommended content for your motivation letter are; Why are you interested in this specific program – its content and its focus? What special qualifications and skills did you gain through your previous academic career that are relevant to this program and that you can build on? What specific professional experience do you have that will contribute to the aims of this program? How do you hope to develop your career after receiving the masters degree?
Your letters of recommendation can be academic, professional or, if possible, from a current employer.

Submission

Please upload a complete set of these files to the Ain Shams online application portals. Please do not send any hard copies until you receive an offer. Offers are conditional on the timely submission of all hardcopy documents required for admission to Ain Shams University. We advise candidates to start preparing their documents in advance.
