On Wednesday 6-12-2017 at 5:30 pm, IUSD held a Public Lecture titled “The Global Housing: A Paradigm Shift Towards Adequate Housing For All” by Prof. Mohamed El Sioufi, the lecture was held at IUSD Video Conference Hall @ Faculty of Engineering – Ain Shams University.<\/span><\/div>\n

Short Bio on IUSD’s Guest Lecturer:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
Prof. Mohamed El Sioufi is an international urban development advisor with over 40 years of experience. For 20 years he served as a Senior Advisor at the United\u00a0 Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT). He\u00a0 provided policy, technical and capacity development advice\u00a0 in Africa, the Arab States, Asia the Pacific and the Caribbean\u00a0 regions.<\/span>
\n He developed the \u201cParticipatory Slum Upgrading\u00a0 Programme\u201d currently operating in 35 countries in Africa,\u00a0 the Caribbean and the Pacific regions. He coordinated the\u00a0 Housing and Slum Upgrading Branch and the Global Housing\u00a0 Strategy.<\/span><\/div>\n
Prof. El Sioufi is currently, an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of\u00a0 Architecture, Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.\u00a0 From 2013 to 2015, he was a 150th Jubilee Professor at Chalmers\u00a0 University in G\u00f6teborg, Sweden. He is on the Advisory Board\u00a0 of the IUSD Programme. For the UN, he\u00a0 conducts policy and technical missions including developing\u00a0 and evaluating programmes.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
