The Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design Masters Programme (IUSD) celebrated the graduation of the fifth cohort on Thursday, the 21<\/span>st<\/span><\/sup> of September 2017. The IUSD is a double-degree Masters Programme between Ain Shams University in Egypt and Stuttgart University in Germany.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The graduation ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Abdelwahab Ezzat, President of Ain Shams University, at the main Plaza of Faculty of Engineering Campus – Ain Shams University, Cairo. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdelghafar Egyptian Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research and Mr. Julius Georg Luy the German Ambassador to Egypt.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

During his Address speech, Dr. Abdelgahfar praised the excellent scientific cooperation between Egypt & Germany in; post-grad joint programmes, scholarships and scientific exchange. He Also stressed the importance of scientific & research cooperation between Nations to foster new researchers with a more sophisticated expertise in all fields of science. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

A view that was shared by Mr. Georg Luy who pointed out that Germany is endeavoring to provide Scholarships and joint education programmes to Egyptian students & researchers with the aim of improving the research & scientific environment in Egypt. He Also praised the multitude of nationalities participating in the IUSD as a model of cultural interaction and diversity between the students of the IUSD.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since its beginning in 2010, the IUSD has graduated 110 students from over 30 countries including Egypt, Germany, France, Canada, Tunisia, Sudan, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Ethiopia\u2026..etc. The ceremony for the graduation of the 5<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> intake witnessed the graduation of 18 students.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The graduation ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Abdelwahab Ezzat, President of Ain Shams University, at the main Plaza of Faculty of Engineering – Ain Shams University, Cairo. <\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Youhansen Eid, President of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, in addition to the vice presidents of Ain Shams University’s; Prof. Dr. Abdelnasser Singab, Prof. Dr. Fathy Alsharqawy. Also among the attendees were, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Salheen, <\/span>t<\/span><\/span>he Programme Director from ASU side and Prof. Astrid Ley, <\/span>t<\/span><\/span>he Programme Director from USTUTT side, Dr. Mohamed El Sioufi from IUSD advisory Board, in addition to professors from the Programme and Ain Shams University. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony began with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Abdelwahab Ezzat, welcoming the honorable guests, the professors, the students and their parents. <\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony also included handing honorary certificates to the students followed by taking of group photos. The Graduation Ceremony was followed by a musical performance by El-Tanoura band for folklore arts that performed a collection of traditional & famous music pieces. <\/span><\/p>\n
